About the Event

What is our Juneteenth Event?

Join Black Talent Initiative as we commemorate Juneteenth, a historic moment for Black communities worldwide. On June 18, we invite you to an evening of reflection, education, and celebration, honouring the resilience and achievements of the Black community.

This event celebrates the richness of Black culture and the global impact of Black history. Through discussions, performances, and interactive experiences, we will amplify voices advancing racial justice and equity while highlighting the interconnected stories of Black communities in Canada and the United States.

Join us in a shared moment of reflection and celebration as we honour the past and look toward a more inclusive and equitable future.

Still We Rise

Like the sun, we rise, steady, certain, and unstoppable. No matter the weight of the moment or the uncertainty ahead, we rise again.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom has never been given freely. It has been carried, claimed, and protected across generations, living in the courage of those who endured and the communities that continue to stand.

Still We Rise reflects that enduring spirit. Even in the face of challenges, we hold power. In moments of fatigue, we carry light. Our presence, our joy, our resistance, and our dreams are all acts of rising.

This is a moment to honour where we come from, ground ourselves in who we are, and move forward with clarity and conviction, rising together as we always have.
